About SCHOLTEN LLC

Scholten LLC provides residential structural evaluations focused on helping homeowners, buyers, and real estate professionals understand specific structural concerns through independent, objective engineering analysis. The goal is to replace uncertainty with clear, defensible engineering judgment—not to alarm, speculate, or oversimplify. These evaluations are also relied upon by contractors, attorneys, and insurance professionals when technical clarity is required.

Rather than performing broad home inspections, Scholten LLC specializes in targeted evaluations of existing residential structures where a specific concern has been identified. Common conditions include foundation cracking, floor movement, framing irregularities, and indicators of settlement or structural distress. Each evaluation is based on direct field observations, relevant measurements, and professional engineering judgment applied to the conditions present at the time of inspection.

Our Approach

Scholten LLC takes a focused, evidence-based approach to residential structural concerns.

Each evaluation begins with understanding the client’s concerns, followed by an on-site assessment of the structure and targeted documentation of relevant conditions. Findings are analyzed using accepted engineering principles and summarized in a clear written report.

Reports are structured to communicate clearly:

  • Documented structural conditions and relevant observations

  • Professional interpretation of what those conditions mean

  • Whether corrective action, further evaluation, or monitoring is needed

Our intent is to reduce uncertainty by applying professional engineering judgment to observed conditions, providing clear, defensible guidance to support informed decision-making.
